Linna Lintuvaara/Castle Lintuvaara

Viime viikonloppuna oli aika jälleen aloittaa rapukausi. Toki virallinen ravustuskausi on alkanut jo ajat sitten mutta itse korkkasimme sesongin ystävien kesken Lintuvaarassa viime lauantaina.

Sää oli m itä upein. Oli varsinainen intiaanikesä! Saatoimme istua ulkona alkuillasta nauttien virvokkeista ja lämpimästä säästä.

Last weekend it was time to start the crayfish season again. Of course the crayfish fishing season started ages ago but we started the season with friend in Lintuvaara last Saturday.

The weather was fantastic. Real Indian Summer! We were able to sit outside and enjoy refreshments and the warm weather.

Ystäviemme kauniissa puutarhassa oli jo merkkejä alkavasta syksystä.

There were already signs of the oncoming autumn in our freinds garden.

Sain jälleen nuorelta vieraalta piirustuksen :)! Samoin jouduin jälleen tekemisiin niiden hiiden Band Loopsien kanssa! Kolmas yritys tehdä Breton raita- rannerengas päättyi jälleen epäonnisesti! En tule koskaan saamaan sitä tehtyä!! Ikinä!

I again received a drawing fom one of the younger guests :)! I also came into contact with those damned Band Loops again! The third attempt at making a Breton Stripe bracelet failed again! I shall never get it done!! Ever!

Vaikka ilma oli kaunis ja lämmin, muuttui lämpötila nopeasti viileäksi, kun aurinko meni vastapäisen talon taakse. Siirryimme nauttimaan alkupaloja sisätiloihin.

Although the weather was beautiful and warm, the temperature changed quickly, once the sun went behind the neighboring house. We went inside to eat the starters.

Lohi- ja prosciutto-leipiä, Pigs in Blankets. Ihanaa! Söin kaikkea hyvällä ruokahalulla. Taisin vetää päälle vielä sipsejä ja irtokarkkejakin!

Salmon and prosciutto sandwiches, Pigs in Blankets. Wonderful! I ate everything with a good appetite. I think I also had chips and candy too!

Sisätiloissa ei näkynyt jälkeäkään rapukattauksesta. Jotenkin oletin, että alkupalojen jälkeen järjestäisimme sen keittiöön jotenkin. Vaan ei. Illan hämärtyessä ravut nautittiin talon kellarissa, jonne oli tehty upea kattaus! Valitettavasti kellarin ihanassa tunnelmallisessa valossa oli vain mahdotonta saada kännykkäkamerallani kunnollisia kuvia. Ehkä seuraavista kuvista kuitenkin saa jonkun käsityksen siitä, miten hieno tila oli.

There was no sign of the crayfish table indoors. Somehow I presumed, that after the starters we'd arrange it in the kitchen. But no. As the evening grew darker we had the crayfish in the cellar of the house, where there was fantastic setting! Unfortunately the wonderful light and atmosphere of the cellar was too dark to take good pictures with my mobile phone's camera. But perhaps the following photos can give some sort of idea about how beautiful the space was. 

Söin jälleen täyden tusinan herkullisia rapuja ja asettelin ne lautasen reunan ympäri, kuten pitääkin. Tällä kertaa ei kukaan enää jaksanut tätä käytäntöä ihmetellä.

I again ate a dozen crayfish, which I arranged around the edge of the plate, as is the proper way to do it. This time no one wondered at the practice anymore. 

Kellarin hienossa valossa ja tunnelmassa syntyi käsite Linna Lintuvaara. Kellarin betoniseinien suojassa saatoimme värivalojen hämyisässä valossa kuvitella olevamme linann kellariholvissa. Valo maalaili hienoja kuviota rosoisiin seiniin, joista jo olin näkevinäni kaupunkien siluetteja (enkä ollut edes juonut liikaa vodkaa...).

Jälkiruoan nautimme taas sisätiloissa talon keittiössä. Omenainen kakku oli herkullista. Sen sisältä paljastui mahtavan mehevä rahkatäyte.

The idea of castle Lintuvaara was coined in the fantastic light and ambiance of the cellar. Inside the protective walls of the cellar with all the colored lights, we could imagine ourselves to be in the cellar vault of a castle. The light painted fantastic figures on the walls and I could almost make out the silhouettes of cities on the concrete surface (and I hadn't even had too much vodka...)

We had the dessert indoors in the kitchen. The apple cake was delicious. Inside there was a wonderful moist center of quark.

Toisin kuin viime vuonna, noudattivat kaikki tällä kertaa yhden snapsin sääntöä ja suuremmilta välikohtauksilta vältyttiin :D! Välillä osaamme juhlia myös sivistyneesti, mikä useimmiten myös tekee illasta - ja varsinkin seuraavasta päivästä - paljon nautittavamman!

Unlike last year, everyone observed the one schnapps rule and no major incidents occurred this time :D! Sometimes we know how to party in civilized manner, which usually makes the evening - not to mention the next day - so much more enjoyable!
